US President Barack Obama Inauguration Day 1
Inauguration Day is on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 when the United States president-elect Barack Obama is sworn into office. This event usually occurs on the steps of the Capitol, usually by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who presides over the oath, which is taken directly from the Constitution: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Serious stuff.
All of us! Of course, the Inaugural Ball may be a little bit more exclusive, but anyone who wants to stand along Pennsylvania Avenue to freeze their toes off and witness the parade to the ceremony may do so. Those who want to be on site for the historic occasion are already planning their trips with lookups on “inauguration travel packages,” “inauguration packages,” and “attending the presidential inauguration.”
But don’t expect to get serious deals. Inauguration Day is good for business. In the past, hotel rooms have gone for an eye-popping $350-$400 a night, and local business is generally boosted 30%. (With those kinds of prices, how could it not?) Of course, you can always look for volunteer opportunities, which a few searchers are already scouting out.
Not surprisingly, the most popular searches on the event are coming from D.C., and those locals won’t have to do much more than pay for a seat on the Metro.
2008 Democrats Clinton, Obama, and The American Media Bias 0
Senator Hillary R. Clinton recently cried “foul” when she noticed the media being harder on her than Senator Barack Obama. During the MSNBC debate on Tuesday February 26, 2008, Hillary Clinton claimed she was hit with difficult to answer questions while Barack Obama was given an all natural pillow made of feathers. MSNBC moderator Tim Russel pounded Clinton for not releasing her tax returns to the public and Obama regarding his recently endorsement by Farrakan. In the end, Clinton return political answers about her tax returns and Obama was forced to denounce and reject the Farrakan endorsement.
Also, till this day, financing of the Clinton Library remains unknown because tax returns are being delayed.
I’m an Obama supporter and I really felt the media was softer on Barack than Hillary.
Barack Obama on Super Tuesday 2008 0
Super Tuesday is defined as the very first Tuesday for the month of February or March on a presidential year. So far, Barack Obama as an underdog for the democratic presidential nomination and an African American, is leading among states won against the former first lady, Hillary R. Clinton. The Barack Obama campaign surprised everyone with a shoestring win in Missouri. Unfortunately, the state of California which holds the biggest delegate prize did not go his way. Based on Barack Obama’s Illinois victory speech, I believe the battle for the 2008 democratic presidential nomination is just heating up. Lookout for the negative campaign ads aimed at degrading the Hillary campaign. Also, I think the Super Obama Girl is hot and H. Clinton is not.
Democrats Hillary Clinton vs Barack Obama 0
The real contenders for the democratic presidential nomination are the two that are rewriting history in 2008. New York Senator Hillary R. Clinton is the first woman to ever run for the democratic nomination. If she wins the battle versus Illinois Senator Barack Obama, she’ll be the first woman running for president of the United States. On the other hand, if she stumbles, Barack Obama will be the first black person to be nominated by the democratic party. I really don’t care who wins, I just want my vote to be a part of history. Finally, John Edwards should stop wasting campaign donations since he barely have a chance to win anything.
